“One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches.
I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin.
All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn’t scrimp with his traveling companions. It’s smooth sailing all the way with God-of-the-Angel-Armies.”
Psalm 84:10-12 MSG
Are you in a close, personal, ever- growing love relationship with God? I mean the kind of relationship that can say, as David said, that he would rather spend one day…just one day…in God’s house, (heaven) than spend it on thousands of gorgeous white sand beaches.
How about you? Would you trade Greek island beaches, thousands of them, for one day in God’s beautiful place of worship?
The decision doesn’t come down to the places. It’s about Who is in that place. Oh, absolutely heaven will be gloriously beautiful…but the BIG DEAL is that Jesus is there. I mean, you will be with Jesus Himself.
Oh, that will be glory for me. Looking at the face of Jesus. Falling before Him in worship. Only if it was for a day. (Even though I know I’ll spend everyday forever with Him.)
Then what about being an honored guest in a Palace of Sin but trading it for scrubbing floors in God’s House?
Hmmmmm…guest in a palace or doing manual labor in a house? That would be a no-brainer except for the fact that God Almighty lives in that house.
Scrubbing floors in God’s house comes with HUGE dividends…God is generous in gifts and glory. Plus, He doesn’t scrimp. He LOVES to reward you. And you are in the presence of God. And that’s enough!
What if you find yourself being more attracted to the thousands of white sand beaches, and being a guest of honor in a palace of sin…than desiring to be in the house of God?
Then know that He is calling you to go deeper with Him. To know Him more. To fall in love with Him.
He wants to be your everything because He gave His everything (Jesus) for you to walk over His heavenly threshold.
He did it all for you…so you could give your all to Him!
