We played this song by Michael W Smith hundreds of times, when I was on 105.3 the FISH. The second this song would air, someone would call, rather weepy, and share about a special person in their life, and then thank us for playing that song.
There is something about a Godly friendship that brings joy to my very being…a deep, abiding relationship that nothing and no one can put asunder.
Talk of weather. Talk of kids. Talk of disappointments. Talk of accomplishments. Talk of good news. Talk of not-so-good news. Talk of heart and hard matters. And all the talk has one underlying theme, “If God is for us…then who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
When I have a vertical relationship with God, the Father through God, the Son…and so does my friend…then our horizontal relationship thrives, no matter the circumstances of life. Hallelujah!
Aren’t ‘cha glad God made us relational creatures? First with Him…and then with one another. That’s why we can be “friends forever when the Lord is Lord of them.”
Do you have a good friend that is your forever friend? That happens when both of you choose Jesus…you’re friends here and friends there!
I am so thankful to have forever friends…pointing me to God’s Word, through the sunshine and the storms…and standing on His promises, instead of proclaiming my problems.
