“The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing!
God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed.
We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight.
Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!
Romans 13:12-14 MSG
Have you ever been awake at the coming of the dawn? Anticipating the light that will flood the earth. Darkness cannot co-exist with light. Neither can it in those who are followers of Jesus.
So, if you want to see the coming of the dawn, you need to be up so you can experience the light pushing back the darkness. That’s what light does, ya know. Darkness has to obey light.
So get up! Be awake! Observe what God is doing! You will miss out on the finishing touches He wants to accomplish in and through you if you just sleepwalk through the dark.
No frivolous stuff. No indulging. No sleeping around. No dissipation. No bickering. No grabbing everything in sight. Stay away from that dark stuff.
Live in the light as He IS light!! Since your day of salvation, your day of believing and receiving Jesus as your Savior, He is continuing to refine you. He lives in you, therefore, you are filled with light. So do the next right thing.
Get up! Get out of bed! Feet to the floor. Don’t just lolly gag around. Get going. No loitering. No waiting to get dressed at the last minute before you need to be somewhere.
Report for “duty”. But first you need to get dressed in Christ, so that you will look just like Him! Then, as you are up and about for the day, your clothes will “shine”. Yep, others will see Jesus’ light in you.
