“Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.
Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish!
We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves.
God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”
Ephesians 2:7-10 MSG
Run to God! And stay right there! He has such wonderful plans for you! And He has you where He wants you… with all the time in the world and the next! (He’s the Creator of time so no need to worry about this time on earth or for all eternity. It’s safe in His hands.)
And you know what He wants to do with you? Shower grace and kindness upon you in Jesus!! Why would you want to run anywhere else other than to His loving arms? Who doesn’t want grace and kindness showered over them?
All you need to do is trust. Yup. That’s it. Trust Him enough to let Him save you. He does all the work. You do all the trusting. It is His gift to you.
And what do we do with a gift? Scrutinize it? Examine the type of wrapping paper and size of box it’s in before we decide to open it? No. That would be ludicrous. We graciously accept the gift. Open it. And enjoy it.
And God’s free gift to us is this: salvation through His Son, Jesus! He died so we could be forgiven of our sin that separates us from God. Jesus has done it all. Signed, sealed and delivered! The gift is yours for the taking.
Saving you is all God’s idea. It is His gift to you. We cannot make or save ourselves. And if we try to, we will make a mess of our lives.
So, run to God. Join Him in what He had planned for us from the very beginning. And what’s that? To live a purpose-filled life. To join Jesus in doing good works. To be like Him. To make a difference in your sphere of influence. “God created you in Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing!”
