Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil!
Proverbs 3:5-7 MSG
Assumptions can get me in trouble. When I accept something as true or as certain to happen, without proof, there is still a probability that it isn’t true and won’t happen.
Meanwhile, my mind is set. No one and nothing will deter my focus. And that’s when I get in a quandary.
Solomon, the wisest man in the whole world, gives the best advice ever
in Proverbs 3:
1. Trust God.
When I have total confidence in God, in His ways and His timing, I won’t try to figure it out on my own.
2. Listen for God’s voice.
When I am attentive to His voice, everywhere I go and everything I do, my crooked path becomes straight.
3. Run to God.
And when I give up my pride, (assuming I know better than God does), I not only run to God, He runs to me!
That’s His conviction in my heart followed by godly activity.
And that’s a very good thing.
