“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”
Psalm 143:8,10
Do you greet the morning with your feet on the ground anticipating what a good day this will be?
It’s the breaking of a new day. The dawn arising. A new beginning, once again. The ultimate redo. Start over. Clean slate.
Lamentations mentions that “God’s mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.”
It’s in the light that you can see clearly. Dawn has pushed back darkness. No wonder the Psalmist says, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love.” He was counting on the new day. Knowing that whatever happens, (his circumstances) He would trust in God’s unfailing love.
Arise with God in the morning, He will show you the way to go. In the night you can’t see as clearly…but if you can just hold on until the morning light, God will direct your path.
Notice, even in the dark, the Psalmist trusted the One who could see. He had already recklessly abandoned to Him. He trusted God, in the dark, knowing that in the morning he would see what he previously could not…”the way he SHOULD go”.
There were many ways he COULD go, but he wanted the right path…and so he waited on God to show him.
Waiting. Expectantly waiting. Knowing that you know that God, through the Holy Spirit, will lead you on level ground.
See, if you take off on your own, you’ll be trudging up mountains, falling into deep crevasses, walking on paths full of pot holes and uneven terrain…IN THE DARK.
But God wants to lead you on level ground in the light. Even if the mountains loom on the horizon, He will have you walk on level ground around them or through them…as He levels the path along the way.
Trust Him. His unfailing love. His way. His will. For He is MY God and I entrust my life to Him. Teach me to do your will.
