“Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it.
The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.”Psalm 94:16-19 MSG
Have you ever been cheered up by a friend? Or take your side when people were ganging up against you? Maybe your mom did…or a teacher. If so, it is indelibly etched in your memory. How much better is it to know that God Almighty has your back! He goes before you. Stands up against the wicked. And jumps right in when He sees you’re being harassed by evil workers. He wants to encourage you. He is FOR you. And if He is FOR you then who can bother you? Who can stand against? God is greater. Stronger. Healer. Awesome in power. Higher than any other. And because He is there for you…you can make it through. But He needs to hear from you. He’s always at-the-ready…so call out to Him FIRST. Not as a last-ditch effort. Why is it we try to figure it out on our own? Read what the Psalmist said, “The MINUTE I said ‘Im slipping. I’m falling’, your love, God, took hold and held me fast.” I want to be caught when I’m falling. I want a hand to reach out and grab me when I’m slipping. I don’t want to fall down. No one does. God’s love does just that. Takes hold and holds you fast. No need to worry about His grip. He’ll never drop you. Never let you go. Just rest in His loving safety. Plus, if you’re having an emotionally charged day, He has the remedy for that, as well. His words are a balm for your soul. He reminds you, in Him, you have a settled joy and a settled hope. Suddenly, a calm confidence envelopes you. And you cheer up. So, if you’re having a “bad” day, you’re only a yelp away from the One who stands up for you against evil workers. And in the same breath, He will calm and cheer you.

FROM THE COMMUNUTY
Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
