“God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in sea storm and earthquake…GOD-of-Angel-Armies protects us.
Godless nations rant and rave, kings and kingdoms threaten, but Earth does anything he says.”
Psalm 46:1, 3, 6 MSG
Where do you run when you need to be comforted? Your spouse? Your close friend? Your mom or dad? That one person who provides relief to your afflicted heart and soothes your soul. It seems as if everything is alright just being in their presence.
However, thee ONLY ONE who can provide deep, satisfying comfort, when you’re on the cliff-edge of doom, is the God of All Comfort! He is THEE safe place to hide. Standing at-the-ready to help you walk courageously through the storm.
God either calms the storm or calms you in the storm. Either way, you win. He knows the end from the beginning. He wants you to trust that He will take you safely through the sea storms and earthquakes of life.
This stormy circumstance, that you’re in, did not take God by surprise. He’s not scratching His head trying to figure out what to do now that you’re in this mess.
He wants you to look up! He wants you to rise above what you see…the raging, tossing waves…and place your faith in the Unseen. He wants you to experience peace in the midst of the storm. His peace that passes all human understanding. Only He can give you that peace. None of your earthly comforters can provide that!
I mean, He calls Himself…God-of-Angel-Armies! What protection!!! He has all of our problems solved in the heavenlies before one of them comes along!
And He not only takes care of you…but all of earth trusts Him. Earth will do anything He says. Creation KNOWS their Creator and willfully responds. Godless nations may rant and rave, but God is in control and He has the last move.
That alone should give you comfort! If the whole earth will do anything He says, then why do you struggle when the God-of-Angel-Armies is with you…before you even call out for help. He is the safe place to hide.
Instead of the waves, let His comfort wash over you. He’s got this. He really does.
