“You’re all I want in heaven! You’re all I want on earth! When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, GOD is rock-firm and faithful. I’m in the very presence of God— oh, how refreshing it is! I’ve made Lord GOD my home. God, I’m telling the world what you do!”
Psalm 73:25; 28 MSG
Can I honestly say, “You’re all I want in heaven and on earth.” I would tend to agree with the heaven part…but what about “all I want on earth?”
When I fully acknowledge and recognize that I am totally dependent on God—right now—and when “my skin sags and my bones get brittle,” then I will totally agree with the Psalmist, “You are all I want. Period.”
He is GOD. I am not.
He is rock-firm and faithful. I am not.
He invites me to enjoy His presence now…and now…and now…and now. Here on earth and forever in heaven. So whether I am here or have moved to heaven, the Lord God IS my home.
It doesn’t matter where I am living as long as I know that God IS my home. Location plays no part in my residence, as my life is in Him alone. And therefore, I am refreshed.
Refreshed in my temporary home.
Refreshed in my forever home.
And as I’m continually refreshed living in His presence, I want all around me to enjoy His rock-firm, faithful presence too. (Yes, even in the earthly storms of life.)
So I shout it from the depths of my soul so your soul would respond to His rock-firm, faithfulness. Real living! Such refreshment!
