Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:6-8 NIV If you look around, at what I call the “eddy current of life,” you will miss out on WHO your mighty rock, salvation, fortress and refuge is. In the midst of the whirling dervish of life. God is our Go-To-and-Stay-There Refuge. Right now. And now. And now. And now. And forever. He will settle you, comfort you and encourage you. I can hear you saying, “I know He is the One I should run to, but I hem-and-haw and wallow in my troubles. Or I sit in my “poopie diapers.” And why is that? Verse 8 gives us a hint: “Trust in Him at ALL times, you people, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” You are having a crisis of belief…a lack of complete trust in the One who can and will deliver you in your problem or out of your problem. Either way He will deliver you—as one of His names is God The Deliverer. And secondly, He desires for you to “pour out your hearts to Him.” That means you are being real and honest with the One who already knows your heart. You are acknowledging that He has His best for you in the midst of life trying to shake you off your foundation. So we are to say, like David did when He cried out to His mighty God in his distress, through this Psalm—You are my rock, my salvation, my fortress, and my refuge. I will not be shaken. That’s absolute trust!

FROM THE COMMUNUTY
Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
