“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made! You know me inside and out, know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”
Psalm 139:13-16
The Maker of Heaven and Earth…made YOU! Every detail. The One who flung the stars in place. The One who orders the heavens shaped YOU!
“He can keep the sun from rising, and the stars from shining at night. No one helped God spread out the heavens…God hung the stars in the sky — the Great Bear, Orion, the Pleiades, and the stars of the south. We cannot understand the great things he does, and to his miracles there is no end.”
Job 9:7-10
That same Almighty God reached down and intricately formed you in your mother’s womb. Bit-by-bit, He sculpted you from nothing into something. He knows every bone in your body. He knows you inside out.
More than you know yourself…He knows you.
Doesn’t that stop you in your tracks? Someone knows you more intimately than you know yourself. Even from conception to birth, He watched you grow! You couldn’t do that! Nor your mom.
Your entire span of life is spread before Him like an open book. Every day of your life has been ordained before one of them came to be.
As the All-Knowing (Omniscient) God, this is a piece of cake for Him. See, He knows the end from the beginning. He has written the final chapter before your “book of life” had even begun.
So, if this All-Knowing Creator God made you…and He did. And if this Omniscient God knows you inside and out..and He does, it would behoove you to know Him more than you know yourself…as He’s got the “inside scoop” on your whole life.
We should exclaim, as the Psalmist does, “I thank you High God. You’re breathtaking!”
